Dreamy Kitchens

With motherhood comes eternal early mornings, a shock to the system that never fades but I have come to accept my boys are the 'early worms' they are and embrace that first morning cup of tea when the day is still quiet and new.
But I have decided it would be even easier to embrace if I had the dreamiest of dreamy kitchens to sip my tea in at this unearthly hour - and so the ongoing collation of snippets of other people's dreamy kitchens carries on until such time I have that dream kitchen of my own
And what I can now glean from seeing these most recent favourites together is that I am obviously drawn to white kitchens; white kitchens with lots of natural light, pastel accents, great big pendent lights and maybe even some twinkling crystal pieces here and there. I like open shelving where I can see my lovely tactile pieces and not just hide them away and I like an island with a marble top and stools and a scrubbed wooden dining table nearby for good measure. Not much then!
Let me know what you think and also what your dream kitchen would look like.... x

Candy Queen Designs

Strange as it may seem, my absolute favourite thing in my boys' playroom/bedroom is their light switch! Even though they are too small to even reach it yet, it makes me smile every time I turn their light off at night. Why? because it is unlike any light switch I've ever seen - it's bright, bonkers and fun, perfect for my boys room! They are from Candy Queen Designs (via notonthehighstreet.com) and they also do funky vw cars and camper van switches with retro map backgrounds - a definite talking point!

Sanderson's Squirrels

I am absolutely loving Sanderson's 'Vintage Fabrics' collection. The patterns include beautiful red and pink tulips as well as summer yellow sunflower but my favourite has to be this print of squirrels in a tree!

IT'S FRIDAY!

It's friday, the sun is (sort of) shining and it's time to get that weekend feeling! I have a busy day today, doing the school run, rushing around the shops and then finishing of a 4 strand name bracelet before picking joseph up from school again. So I definitely need to post and run today... an empty kids lunchbox is calling.... happy friday x

A working nest

I am currently living in a teeny weeny house and so instead of studying or working I am day-dreaming of my own creative space away from the kids tv and the washing up. Here are a few of my dreamy favourites...

First two pictures are via the gorgeous House of Turquoise and the bottom two are via Housetohome.co.uk

Pheasants and Florals!

As I seem to be on a pink floral roll today here's another! I heart every part of this hallway - the stunning console table from Bennison, the pheasant wallpaper from Timorous Beasties and the gorgeous raspberry pink lamps from Vaughan.
Can you imagine walking into such a striking hallway? Love it.

Bloomin' pretty

I've always loved going to Liberty in Regents Street but I am loving them even more for their Liberty of London for Target collection!
My 'need them now' favourites are the Garla print bicycle and the toddler romper suit - unfortunately i don't think i could quite get away with forcing my very blue toddler into this any time soon...

Roses for Breakfast

Good morning! Pass the jam! I just adore this new mural from Graham & Brown and can just imagine it at the end of a beautiful white kitchen/ dining room.
Having a husband and two boys to contend with I need all the feminine features I can find!
Of course, carrying on my rosy daydream, my dining area would have gloriously large french doors opening on to my beautiful rose garden. This gorgeous trug is full of decadent David Austin Roses and trailing jasmine and comes from their Chelsea Flower Show exhibition. I can smell them from here!
Have a rosy wednesday x

Today's dawn chorus

Am looking forward to the forthcoming Wealden Times Midsummer Fair at Brick House Farm, High Halden in Kent. With lots of gorgeous homeware and garden stalls it's my idea of a perfect way to spend a sunny saturday.
What I am looking forward to most, however, is the hog roast and sitting on a hay bale scoffing a scone with lashings of jam and clotted cream - yes please!

Beautiful Birds

Whilst reading ada & darcy's beautiful blog I came across the gorgeous work of plumprettysugar. I've just been on to her etsy page and thought I'd post her beautiful kaftan cardigan - just gorgeous!

Fine Feathers

I had to share the latest collection from Lisa Jaynn Dann which is full of gorgeous grecian style. The maxi dresses and playsuits are featured in Grazia magazine and are just amazing but I snapped up the mini dress! Contact lucy at lucy@richman.uk.com for stockists.

A cockoo's post

Due to the rare gorgeous weather this picture from design wonderland is my inspiration for this evening!

Today's dawn chorus

We are lucky enough to live just a couple of miles away from Leeds Castle, it is a beautiful place with equally beautiful grounds. There is a Home & Garden fair on there today and the sun is shining so we are off to see what we can spy. It is going to be very hot today so a picnic is calling! I must try not to come back laden with too much stuff!

Magpie

As a real life magpie I am always drawn to all things pretty and so it made perfect sense to start making jewellery. Here are a few pieces I've made...

nest envy

whilst browsing through other interior obsessed blogs I came across a link for 1st Option - and fell in love with so many beautiful houses and locations available for photo shoots and the like. I was green with envy but they gave me lots of inspiration for my dream home!

Flying the nest

Just some photos of some pretty things from my wedding day x

My first post

Welcome to my beautiful nest. I am currently working on a diploma in interior design and am like a magpie for all things interior, especially beautiful pictures of beautiful places and after avidly trawling through interior design sites, magazines and blogs I decided to start my own blog - for myself more than anything - so that i can tag, list and ramble on about them to my heart's content!
My first post must include my view from my bedroom window (which i know has nothing to do with interiors - it is positively exterior) but it is my current inspiration!
